Firstly, I strongly advise, no matter what type of website you require, that you do your research.
Look at many websites that are from a similar business to yours' and see :

  1. What and how they offer products or services
  2. What is their page structure
  3. What is their content, ie text
  4. Are they graphic or text rich?
  5. Can you navigate easily to find what you want?
  6. Finally, colour schemes and graphics

Save links to all of the sites you like, so together we can discuss the pros and cons of each site and come up with a design and format that suits your business.

Webdesign Costs

Costing for webdesign is separated into 2 sections:

  1. Set, ongoing fees which Full Screen Ahead will manage for you but are paid to 3rd party providers.
    • Domain Name - ie www.yourbusiness.com.au costs around $70.00 every 2 years
    • Hosting - Where your website sits in cyberspace. A hosting provider runs computers (servers) that are online 24/7. This is about $140 per year.
  2. Website design fees - are the payment to us for creating your site. This price varies depending on the complexity of the site required. It can be as low as $800.00 for a simple site of a few pages to about $1,500 for a more complex site with many features.
    • For this you get several personal consultations, where we discuss your requirements, colour schemes, layout and content.
    • A Home page, several content pages and a contact page
    • Photography if required
    • Optimisation of graphics
    • Search Engine Optimisation - so your site is found and given a high search ranking.
      • Extras
        • Photo gallery
        • Complex forms ie. a quote form

Once your site is complete and online, we charge $50.00 / hour for maintenance, ie adding additional material to keep your site up-to-date. These changes are often minor and quick, and we only charge when an hour of time is used. ie. 4 x 15 minute changes.

If you are happy to make these changes yourself, a site can be set up which you can have access to make changes.

Blogs
Another option is a blog, where you go online to make changes. Blogs can be set up to be like a website or be interactive so others can join discussions or make comments.

Blog software from Wordpress or Google is free, but if you would like to have your own domain name a blog must be hosted with a hosting provider and the abovementioned costs apply. Full Screen Ahead can set a blog up for you and customize it for your needs at the $50.00 per hour rate.

Barblog is an example of a blogsite.
